July is creeping up fast, which means it’s time to get your party hats on, ice cream style! This is the fourth (yes 4th!) year celebrating national ice cream month with printable invites and yummy ice cream recipes and ideas. The archives are below for tons of inspiration, but to get you started we need to make some invitations!
If you haven’t seen past years, check through at the ice cream cone, sprinkle insert, and watercolour printable invitations. This year is all about the ice cream sandwich.
I love ice cream sandwiches. You get to enjoy the cold sweet ice cream without getting the sticky melting ice cream all over your hands. Yes I realize cones serve the same function but there’s just somethign special about the ice cream sandwich. This invite requires a little bit of DIYing, but with a few simple materials they’re a cinch to put together and send off to your ice cream party buddies.
Materials
- Printable invitation (below)
- Scissors
- Needle
- Brads
- A pen to fill in your info
Steps
1 Print the pdf and cut. It’s not necessary, but if you have a paper cutter, it’s easiest to cut them into squares and then cut out the details with scissors. Assemble all the layers together and cut the edges to have them all the same.
2 Fill in the appropriate information.
3 At the bottom centre, poke a needle in the same spot through each piece of paper.
4 Assemble the layers in the proper order (with each sandwich piece facing out) and push a brad through the hole at the bottom with the finished part (circle) at the front and the wings out the back (as shown).
5 Start partying!
One of the layers is left blank for you to use as you wish. You can write extra instructions, draw a map to your place, write the ice cream menu, draw a fun picture or just leave it out.
Wishing you an ice cream filled month! And to help you with your party planning….
