Well guess what happened to me on the weekend?
I was brought to my parents’ place for a surprise bridal shower!
The sneaky devils pretended we were having a girls day tea party at my friends’ house. You can imagine my surprise when there was nearly 30 women shouting surprise at me as I walked through the door!
I had a great time with my family and friends. We ate (oh my goodness did we eat), opened gifts, played games and then feasted again on all the lovely desserts (the cake of which will be our wedding cake!). And after all the gift opening I was dressed up in this fabulous hat from all the gift wrapping decorations.
Doesn’t it look fab?
Here are some pictures and tips to make your daughters or best friend’s bridal shower as lovely as my own:
Martha Stewart knows how important it is to have a variety of food at any party.
Play games with prizes. My favourite? The clothespins game. Everyone gets a clothespin at the beginning of the shower. Throughout a period of time (say the gift opening) no one can do certain things such as say the brides or grooms names or cross their legs. If they do someone else can steal their pin. The person with the most pins by the end wins! Warning: this game can get viscous.
The Cake Blog is devoted to the luscious dessert that is a must at every bridal shower alongside every other delicious sugary morsel!
What party would be complete without the women you love most in your life, your friends and family.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and to everyone who made it happen, especially my mom.
Love you
