If you thought my Harvest Pear Latte was insane(ly good) just you wait.
Due to its health properties, coconut butter/oil is a known super food, so why not put it in your coffee?
Sure it sounds weird but it truly is incredible. Ryan found out about it through Dave Asprey, who primarily recommends using unsalted grass fed butter. If you want to be a bit more daring I fully recommend going the butter route as it’s also delicious, but it must be unsalted and grass fed for maximum taste and health benefits. If you’re still a little hesitant trust me, coconut butter is the way to go.
But aren’t I going to get a slick of oil on top of my coffee?
Nope. If you whisk the coconut butter (solidified coconut oil) well enough it will emulsify into the coffee and give it a creamy texture and light brown colour, just as if you added the less healthy alternative cream.
How do I make it?
Prepare your coffee to your taste. My preference is french press. In a milk frother add one tablespoon of coconut butter. Fill the milk frother with your prepared cup of coffee, whisk vigorously and voila! Coconut Butter coffee.
We drink coffee almost exclusively this way. While I sip on mine throughout the morning until lunch, this is Ryan’s breakfast and he finds it just as satisfying as eating a regular meal.
To take you through the simple process I’ve made you a little video. Enjoy!
How do you like your coffee?
Don’t be afraid friends, go whisk some coconut butter into your morning coffee this weekend!

This looks AMAZING. I want some this instant! Also, your videos are better and better each time — that said, I was in love from the beginning. #lucyfanclub

I’m definitely trying this tomorrow morning. Sounds like a great Saturday morning treat. Do you think a hand held electric milk frother would yield the same results?

I’ve never tried it but it should! Let me know how it works out

I totally believe it – I use coconut oil for pretty much anything now. I even use it on my saddle to fix the cracks and keep it nice and supple
