Having a playroom this year inspired me to go for a merry and bright colour scheme this Christmas. I’m not that traditional of a gal anyway. I had tons lot of fun creating this super poppy, colourful christmas tablescape and free banner download for your Christmas dinner. If you’re daring it could be your main dinner table. If you’re not quite ready for that, style it for the little ones at their kids table, complete with confetti. The best thing about it is that it’s pretty easy to pull off.

You may recall from last week these DIY Felt Ball Ornament Place Cards. They take about 3 minutes each to make and add a touch of whimsy to the table. Plus they double up as an ornament that guests can take home.

First for the table runner, I laid down a pre-lit, white flocked garland. Next I added pink fairy lights, because you can never have too much pink. Garland is easy to stick stuff in and have it stay without using tape or other fasteners. So I simply stuck in colourful ornaments, white candlesticks (use colourful ones for bonus points!), bottle brush trees, and Christmas flower picks from the dollar store.

Of course I also decked out the table with confetti, which plays off nicely with the ornament place cards. The dishes are fiesta ware (go ahead and use brightly coloured paper plates instead), bright napkins, gold cutlery and crystal glasses. If this is going to be your kids table, maybe swap the crystal for colourful plastic cups…
