Everyone loves a DIY christmas, and is it just me or do we all have a thing for polka dots? Why not put the two together!
This is a really simple DIY that shows you how, with the right tools, you can create your own polka dot wrapping paper.
Here’s what you need:Embossing tools are fairly inexpensive and go a long way. To get started right away head down to your local Walmart and pick one up for $14.90.
I used white embossing powder for a falling snow look, but you can use whatever coloured powder you like. Just make sure your ink is either invisible (tinted) or the same colour as your powder.
- Use the eraser of a new pencil to stamp a polka dot onto your kraft paper.
- Cover the stamped area with embossing powder.
- Shake off excess powder.
- Heat with the embossing tool for 2-4 seconds.
- Repeat.
To save time I stamped several polka dots in a row opposed to individually like shown in the steps. Just be sure you cover the dots in powder before the ink dries and be careful not to accidentally rub off the powder before embossing.
You can always go back over the polka dots that didn’t fully turn out. Just stamp, powder and emboss them again. I even did this after wrapping the gift.
To finish it off I wrapped up my gift with some silver twine from knot & bow and made a tag from a rifle paper co gift sticker.
With how super fun and easy this wrapping paper is to make, I’ll be making lots and excited to wrap all the goodies in this creation!
How are you wrapping your gifts this year?

Great minds think alike! I shared a DIY polka dot paper just the other day. Mine used a rolling pin and paint, but I really like the glittery effect you managed to get. Great idea 馃檪

This is really pretty. But at the same time, it seems like a lot of work for wrapping paper. XD Now this is coming from a woman who makes her own envelopes… But still I’d be all “don’t rip the wrapping ! D:” Haha. 馃槢
I like the photos of your wrapped parcel. 馃檪

It was surprisingly quick actually! Lol but yes I think I’ll be wincing a bit when people rip open their gifts!
