As summer draws nearer, I get more and more excited for farmer’s market season. I always make sure to have my own bag on hand, but I wanted to create one specifically for the occasion. So off I went to pick up some farmer’s veggies to create a printable collage on my sprout.
Sprout is an incredible computer program especially useful for creatives. In the computer is a scanner, projector, and 3D camera. The computer automatically cuts out the background around the image, making it really easy to overlap them into a collage. Scanning is dead easy, and while the software takes some getting used to, it’s super handy once you get the hang of it. Keep reading to learn how I made the tote and get the download below.
I tried scanning the collage as a whole (already arranged on the mat) and individual pieces. I liked the latter more as I could manipulate each piece in the program to the size and rotation I wanted. The image quality and colour is pretty incredible, and the fact that it negates all the background space and makes it transparent makes it SO much easier to use each image.
I love how the screen and mat interact with each other. By touching an image and dragging in a downward motion, an image is transferred onto the mat where it can be manipulated. I’m not going to lie, I felt like I was in the future.
Since Sprout is an HP computer, it has the full range of stock fonts to use, but you can also download your favourites. I added text, reversed the image and bam, I had an iron on printable for my new farmer’s market tote bag!
Coming home with my fresh produce and bread in my new tote bag! (You can’t tell with this skirt, but I promise I do have a baby bump going on).
To make your own, download the pdf below, print onto iron on sheets and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to iron it onto a canvas tote bag.
