Thank you for supporting those who keep Squirrelly Minds running!
Sure, I’m a mom, but I don’t like overly kiddo stuff. You know what I’m talking about – bright garish colours, flashing lights, pink bunnies and red fire trucks. No, I like my items sleek and well designed, and I know a lot of other mamas out there are the same. Thankfully there are a ton of options making baby shopping a lot easier.
I generally don’t always find what I need in stores, or at least not in massive chains. Online is always a great resource, and my favourite shop right now is The Baby Cubby. I was really excited to see that they had a live chat that let’s you ask questions and get advice on product while you shop. All the reading to find the perfect gear makes shopping overwhelming. I didn’t research enough strollers and snapped up what I thought was great (major regret) so this is such an awesome feature of the site. What else is great about them?
- They always price match – even Amazon! Them be some big guns.
- They carry only the best and safest gear – aka they’ve spent hundreds of hours researching so you don’t have to. Just sit back and enjoy that much deserved glass of wine and lack of stroller regret!
- Free shipping everyday in the US for purchases over $49. It’s stuff like this that makes me want to move south of the border… California here I come?
Keep reading to find out why I chose the above items for playing, teething/feeding, bathing, and just cause, and some more about what they do (cause they aren’t just about selling stuff folks).
It’s a fact, babes want whatever mama has, so this baby toy phone by Plan Toys is the perfect alternative.
Is there anything better than a perfectly curated bookshelf? Especially with adorable additions like this National parks wildlife primer by Lucy Darling.
All those baby toys need a place to go. This cute Pehr Designs storage basket is the perfect addition to a stylish and fun nursery.
Whether they’re bottle feeding or onto solids, babies come with a lot of dishes. This unobtrusive Boon drying rack stores a ton of little bowls and spoons.
Keep your baby’s pacifier safe from dropping onto the ground with a braided suede pacifier clip by Loved by Sophia Claire, paired with the Natursutten pacifier, made with natural rubber.
It’s easy for mom to look good while allowing baby to ease those sore gums with stylish teething necklaces like this one from Mama and Little.
A necessity for keeping clothes dry, this reversible bib by Billy bibs is both practical and the perfect accessory to an outfit. For feeding, go for a bib with a trough to catch all those fallen bits, like this one by ju-ju-be.
This Lulujo Baby baby turkish towel would hang beautifully in any stylish bathroom. Hooded baby towels such as this one are also an excellent choice.
Two bath time concerns: the water being too hot, and baby bonking their head on the spout. This bath spout cover by 4Moms covers both.
This lavender Lotion and Body Wash set by Tubby Todd is the perfect bath time companion.
Babies are all cute, but no one wants to see or smell the diapers that goes along with them. This sleek diaper pail by Ubbi takes up a small footprint and blends into any chic room.
Move over moccs (though we still love you), babies in oxford shoes by Piper Finn is the next cutest thing!
This Little Unicorn Backpack Diaper Bag is the perfect stylish companion to nappies and toys. Regardless of which diaper bag you choose, be sure to get one with a long strap that allows mom to wear it across her body for times when she doesn’t have enough hands (which is often).
The Baby Cubby is both a shop and a great resource. Seriously, being a parent is so overwhelming at times. I wouldn’t be nearly as sane if I didn’t have my support group to ask questions and rant to. Their team is made up of parents who’ve been through it all and sincerely want to help out. You guys, this is GOLD. A total necessity to parenthood. Their social media and community blog are great spots where parents can find support and chat about the hardships of parenting, cause while there are blissful moments and joys, there’s A LOT of hardships too. A lot. And as noted above, they do a lot of research and test drive product to make sure they carry the best gear. I’ve never seen an online shop so focussed on helping parents out as they navigate through the deep waters of parenting and baby gear, so it’s really great to have a place that is there to support you through all of those decisions. This isn’t me being sales-y – nope I’m dead serious. You can go ahead and read more about their awesomeness right here.
Thanks guys for supporting those who keep Squirrelly Minds going and going like the energizer bunny! And thank you The Baby Cubby for being so awesome. Do me a solid and make your way up to Canada sometime mmmkay?
