I love trains and any related transportation. I truly become a 2 year old boy when I hear a train whistle which, sadly since the E&N railway a block from our house shut down two years ago, is not very often. So instead I become giddy through subway and train maps, which explains my love for the prints above.
In my university art class we hand carved monster stamps and made prints to create a book. Mine was about a monster who lures lost travellers into the dark forever, so for the cover I hand stitched the Seoul subway map. Along with a few others, my book was selected to be a part of a small showcase. Yeah, it may be a minor achievement but I’m kinda proud. Sadly the book is pretty shabby looking now (thanks silverfish).
Do you regularly ride the train or subway?
I love this book you made! What a great idea for kids- the stitching is quite a tactile thing to stroke. Very cool.
Your love of train whistles is just too cute. Love that stitched book cover! 🙂
Thanks ladies!
