I love books. Love them. You know what books I love most? Old books. Amazing old books with their decorative spines full of intricate borders and gold lettering. The weathered yellow pages that so many fingers have flipped through decades or maybe a century before you. I especially love little notes people have written in these old books, not realizing that decades down the road some vintage book geek would find their seemingly mundane note and squeal with glee. Yes. I love old books.
So imagine my delight when this past Friday my fiance and I were cruising the book shelves of value village during their 50% off deal and find this incomplete yet phenomenal set of children’s books. I could barely keep it together for all my excitement.
Aren’t they beautiful?
I get so much joy out of seeing old books on my bookshelf. Whenever I’m in a thrift store the first likely place I’ll go to is the book section. And I’ll admit, I don’t always buy these old books for their literature content. I’m a bit shallow and sometimes get them just because they’re pretty.
Thankfully, these books are both pretty and interesting.
