Hello Squirrelly Mind readers! It’s Amy from Delineate Your Dwelling, a creative craft blog. I’m so excited to be here today, as Baby Squirrel is soon to appear and mama Tan has a lot to prepare for! September is upon us and before you know it, the weather will start to cool. Cooling weather means lots of beautiful fall leaves! Today I am sharing these simple Leaf Stamped Towels. They are a perfect project to help bring the outdoors inside your home!
Supplies:
A white cloth
Acrylic Paint (colors of your choice)
Textile Medium
Paint Brush
Leaves
The first order of business in this fun leaf stamped project is to go outside and collect your favorite fall leaves. I like to use the bigger leaves, as they typically have a stronger vein pattern.
Before you start to paint, be sure to add in Textile Medium to your acrylics. This will aide in a smooth paint for your towels. If you skip this step, the paint will crack and crumble.
The key to a clean stamp with leaves, is to paint the backside of the leaf. The top typically is more smooth, so the underside is where you will apply a generous amount of paint.
After your leaf is coated with paint, simply turn it over and gently press down on the towel.
I made three of these and ended up liking ones with all the same leaf pattern and paint color stamped on a single towel, as opposed to mixing the leaves and colors up.
These would be fun to give as gifts, too!
Thank you for having me today, Tan!
