My desk and studio as it currently stands – dying flowers and all.
Hello friends. Yes I am alive.
So sorry for not being around yesterday or Friday. Things have been really busy in the studio and home, and I just couldn’t bring myself to post some filler material just to have something up here – quality over quantity!
So today I figured I would share with you why I have been so absent as of late….
…a wedding!
No. Not my own. 2 years is a little too short for a renewal of vows.
A dear friend is getting married this weekend and I was lucky enough to be asked to do some hand lettering for the big day. The last few weeks have seen me hunched over lots of kraft paper and white ink to put those details together, and I’ve loved every minute.
It hasn’t only been lettering here in the studio, I’ve also finished up a few more gems. Hooray! Can you figure out what these guys are?
Hint: March / May / June / JulyI think I might open up my shop a bit earlier and do a slow release rather than all my product up at once. If I waited until then I might never get the shop up and running! What do you guys think?
I must admit though, as much as I love working in the studio, it’s really hard some days to stay focussed when the gorgeous sun is beating outside and all I want to do is dive into the lake.
Thankfully I have this girl to keep me company.
Would you rather the Print Shop open up earlier
with fewer products or later with more?
No harm in delaying some designs for a slow release, but I would at least have 8-10 items ready for sale opening day. I hate when I find a shop I think I’m going to love, and there are only like 3 things for sale. You could also make it a goal to add 1-2 new things a week in general. Keep it fresh.
I can’t wait for the opening!!
I like that number. 8-10 it is!
Thanks for the support Amelia! <3
I clearly haven’t been paying attention because I had no idea you were opening a print shop! I can’t wait, your (birthstone!) gem paintings are gorgeous! And I know what you mean about missing those sunny days, it seems the days when I have the most to do are always the most beautiful!
Regardless of how you decided to open, I cannot wait! Everything is so gorgeous 🙂
But when you do, I think it all depends on the marketing honestly. If you put a lot of money into your launch, then have enough products to make that money back. If you’re holding off on that for a while, then no rush on the items. My guess is that you’ll have friends and loved ones promoting your shop for free as soon as you open (i.e. me), so having a few extra items in your shop can’t hurt!
The gems are beautiful! :). I’d wait until you have 10 items, and then have a grand online opening!
Hi, I love your white and gold lamp. May I ask where you purchased it from?
Thanks! It’s from IKEA. They have a ceiling lamp, floor lamp and clamp lamp versions too
