Does anyone have an easy father to shop for? I’m sure there has to be some out there, but I know my dad isn’t one of them. But I do know one thing my dad, and all dad’s, enjoy most – memories and sentimentality.
So, for this father’s day I’ve created a memory box, which is probably the easiest yet most meaningful gift you can give.
I picked up a photo box for $2.50. As great as plain kraft is I wanted to jazz it up a bit, so I added a design with acrylic paints. Add a bit of calligraphy to say “Dad” and the box itself was done.
The inside of the box is where it counts. You really could put anything in there, but the main idea of each item is a significant memory shared between you and your dad. Some ideas are:
- Books you read together
- Toys he gave you
- Souvenirs from places you’ve travelled
- Menu from your favourite childhood restaurant
- And of course, photos
The great thing about giving a memory box is reliving them together through each item you carefully selected.
What would go in your memory box?
