Two for the price of one today folks! Yesterday was the mantel fringe DIY, and today I give you another DIY from the archery themed baby shower – arrowhead straw and cupcake toppers. I whipped these guys up the day of the shower because I felt I didn’t have enough archery motifs. They’re super quick, easy, and a great way to complete the archery theme. Or if you just want to have a bit of fun, arrowhead toppers look great for any party, theme or no theme.
Even though I separated the steps, they’re pretty similar which is why I lumped this into one post. Read on to find out how to make your own!
Materials
- Tissue paper
- Flat toothpicks
- Straws
- Double sided tape
- Scissors
Steps – Arrowhead Straw Topper
1 Wrap two small pieces of tape around the straw, leaving about 1.5 inches from the top so the straw can be drunk from comfortably.
2 Pile several sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and cut out an arrowhead. Lay a straw on top of an arrowhead in the centre, adhering it to the double sided tape.
3 Lay another arrowhead on the opposite side of the straw, again adhering it to the double sided tape.
4 Pinch each side and press against the straw so the tissue paper is evenly adhered all the way around.
5 If the arrowhead edges don’t match up it’s okay, just trim them to shape.
6 Cut diagonal strips on each side to create a feathered arrowhead.
Steps – Arrowhead Cupcake Topper
1 Pile several sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and cut out an arrowhead.
2 Wrap the flat side of the toothpick in a piece of double sided tape.
3 Lay the toothpick on the centre of an arrowhead, adhering it to the double sided tape.
4 Repeat on the other side with another arrowhead.
5 Again, if the arrowhead edges don’t exactly match up, trim to shape.
6 Cut diagonal strips on each side to create a feathered arrowhead.

So cute and simple. I’d use them more as cupcake toppers though. Or maybe on a toothpick in a strawberry, kind of like cupid. Lol. 🙂
