Yesterday marked the last day of class.
It’s bittersweet.
I’m going to miss my students and colleagues, and I’m going to miss getting up every morning and having somewhere to go with lots to do. But you know what? I’m excited too. Because now that I don’t have to hop in my car every morning with somewhere to go, I’m still going to have lots to do, and it’s all going to be Squirrelly Minds.
I decided to take the risky move and focus solely on Squirrelly Minds rather than find a summer job. Yes, I slightly fear I’ll be eating mac and cheese the next two months, but I’m mostly excited for this newfound freedom. I love teaching, but it can be difficult to focus all my energy on one thing or the other. I often felt that Squirrelly Minds suffered because I was busy with my professional life, and even vice versa (countless school nights spent staying up late to finish the next day’s post). The freedom to have my complete attention devoted to this space is new, refreshing and inspring.
Friends, you can expect some fantastic things to happen around here, and I’m thrilled to share this exciting time with you.
I’m so excited for you, Tan! Can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you have in store for us! 🙂
Thanks so much! I can’t wait
Awesome! I teach part time and honestly, holidays are so great for letting the creative juices flow – cant wait to see what you get inspired by!
I didn’t know you taught as well! Fantastic!
Congrats! Teachers are heroic. Enjoy the summer.
You are too sweet
