I’m a pretty lucky girl. The mister loves to experiment and mix all sorts of drinks. The results are 99% of the time absolutely delicious.
Lately he’s really been into making cocktails with blended watermelon and I have to say I don’t mind one bit.
Three different bases, one fruity theme. Each recipe serves two. Pick your poison.
- 1/2 cup watermelon and 2 small slices
- 12 ounces prosecco
- Mint to garnish
Blend watermelon and place 2 ounces of blended watermelon in each champagne glass. Top the rest with prosecco. Garnish with mint and a slice of watermelon.
- 3/4 cup watermelon
- 3 ounces gin
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 1/2 a lime
- sparkling water
- water and ice
- rosemary to garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, gin, simple syrup, juice of 1/2 a lime, and a splash of water. Shake shake shake and fill your glasses. Top with 3 ounces blended water melon and sparkling water. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
- 1/2 cup watermelon
- 3 ounces bourbon
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- bitters
- ice
- lime
Place watermelon at the bottom of each glass and muddle with the back of a spoon. Fill cocktail shaker with ice and add bourbon, simple syrup, several dashes bitters, and shake. Pour on top of muddled watermelon and squeeze a quarter lime into each glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Do you prefer prosecco, gin, bourbon, or something else entirely?
