Last April I shared my first #longdistanceblogdate with Joy from Frock Files. It was so much fun and I wanted to do another right away, but life gets insane.
So I was beyond excited when Amy of This Heart of Mine agreed to do the second one with me this summer. I knew it would be a delicious blast when she suggested we go to a cupcake place.
I first met Amy at Alt in January. I tell ya this girl has one of those infectious personalities that immediately draws you to her. She’s all bright smiles, cheer and positivity! And talk about super momma – amidst running after two little ones, this girl is inspired and inspiring, posting fantastic recipes and DIY’s on her lovely blog. It was so nice to take a well deserved break with her over scrumptious cupcakes.
Search the hashtag #longdistanceblogdate on twitter and instagram to read snippets of our conversation and see some snapshots. And check out where Amy hung out with me, two timezones away, during our long distance blog date.
For our date I chose to munch down on cupcakes (after a well balanced lunch of course) at the very kid friendly Crumsby’s.
With the green walls and rainbow coloured bunting, everything in Crumsby’s is bright, cheery and fun. Perfect for kids and adults with delicious eats and treats, this is the go-to place for hip mom’s with their kiddos and non moms like me.
The wainscotting, benches and table seating gives the place a homey, cottage-like feel, complete with magazine racks for the adults and lots of books and toys for the kiddos. Seriously, it’s the most adult + kid friendly place in this whole city.
Plus, how can you resist a delicious curry tuna sandwich (among many other drool worthy items), mini cupcakes and espresso coffee? I only meant to get one cupcake and ended up buying six… Don’t worry I was good and just had one on my date with Amy and shared the rest with my husband over the next couple days.
The best part about Crumsby’s? Chatting with one of the owners while she clears tables and serves your cupcakes. Meeting and talking with the people who envisioned and created the space makes the experience that much more enriching. It’s such a nice relief from franchises where you have no idea who runs the place let alone who started it all.
Thanks Amy for joining me in delicious treats and fun twitter chats! Head over to This Heart of Mine to see Amy’s favourite cupcake shop!
What’s your favourite cupcake flavour?
