There’s something about the unruly wood grain, the nonuniform colouring and the weathered look and feel of barn wood that begs for your attention. You look at it and wonder where did it come from? Whose hands were the first to touch it when it was freshly milled? How long has that wood suffered the elements?
What’s its story?

These are the sorts of questions that run through my mind when I see those rustic planks, and its that curiosity that attracts me toward this weathered wood.
But just how to incorporate it into the home?
No surprise, my Pinterest was littered with pictures of homes full of barnwood. Looking over them today I was pleasantly surprised to see that it’s not always where you might expect it, such as on the floor.
