Whether you’re still shopping for your presents (and will finish at 5pm on Christmas eve) or finished in early November, we all have to wrap up those lovely little packages.
I like to change it up each year, always choosing a different theme – earthy, glitter, colourful, modern etc. This year my wrapping was inspired by The Sound of Music’s “My Favourite Things”. The theme?
Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With Strings
I realize I need to get a better camera
The Specifics:
- Brown Mailing Paper
- Red and Green Tissue Paper
- Hemp Cord
- Jingle Bell
- Mail Tag
I initially used just the brown mailing paper for wrapping but noticed it’s a bit thin, so if you had a box with a logo you could see through it if you looked carefully enough (and if you have little tots, they will). So I folded a red or green sheet of tissue paper to the desired size and strategically wrapped it around the box and taped it on the back.
I followed this by wrapping hemp cord around the box 2-3 times each orientation around the box and meeting the ends in the centre on the top. After tying one knot, I would tie on a gift tag and a jingle bell for good measure.
I made the gift tags this year out of mail tags, stamping ‘to’ and ‘from’ with my letter stamps and then using my Christmas ornaments stamp to jazz it up a bit.
So there are my brown paper packages (tied up with string) that will shortly be sitting under our tree!
