It’s the last month of the year guys, which means the last desktop wallpaper! Not gonna lie, I’m a bit sad to see this series end – it’s been fun! But I’m happy to cap it off with tanzanite, a pretty incredible gemstone that comes from, you guessed it, Tanzania.
This is a relatively new birthstone, officially added as December’s birthstone in 2002. It was first discovered in Tanzania in 1967 and can only be found here in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, making it now quite rare. Because the masai traditionally give new mothers blue beads to bestow a healthy and positive life for the newborn, tanzanite represents motherhood.
