7 Ranarp work lamp from IKEA
This edition of purchasing files is perhaps the most relevant. Firstly, we’re in the middle of (finally) painting my office. See? And most excitingly, this weekend we’re heading to Vancouver for a massive house shopping trip. I can’t wait! I’ve been perusing sites and writing lists for weeks now.
I’m still figuring out what I want to do with the space, and one area I really struggled with was lighting. As soon as I saw the Ranarp work lamp from IKEA, I knew it would fit perfectly. But I wasn’t sure what would work as a ceiling light fixture…until I saw the above geo pendant from Urban Outfitters. Isn’t it gorgeous? Sadly, my heart broke when I found out they don’t ship internationally and it isn’t available in any nearby stores. *sigh*. So I shall forever hunt for its equal.
Now guys, I have a bit of a dilemma regarding my work desk. I can’t decide if I should get the trestle leg in white for an all white desk, or stick to my original vision (white top with wood legs or vice versa) and get it in natural beech? Or….mix it up even more and spray paint it gold.
Should I get the trestle leg in white, natural, or spray it gold?
Why don’t you try making your own geometric pendant light? Would be a fun DIY no? Doesn’t look too hard to make.
I thought about it and think I just might!
Gosh, both desk options are great. I’m usually a fan of all white, but you can’t go wrong with either! Good luck deciding!

Love this whole look! I think with all the white, it would be fun to have a pop of gold in there 🙂 You could also buy gold contact paper that has more of a metallic feel and then that way you can always peel it off carefully if you decide you want the white or natural top down the road? Can’t wait to see it when it’s all done!!

Oh I definitely want an all white top. It’s just the trestle leg I’m debating. Hrmmm. A gold top would be cool though
