Hey, you, I’m gonna let you in on a little secret.
Every girl cries sometime before her wedding day, and that’s okay.
If you’re married you know this, if you aren’t you can imagine. Getting ready for your wedding day is the hardest part of the entire process. Especially if you’re hosting it in your own backyard.

Everyone will rely on you to know exactly what to do and how to do it. After all you’ve been imagining this day for at least a few months if not since your fifth birthday.
There are a million questions to be answered and decisions to be made, obstacles come up and things don’t work out exactly how you want. Your vision comes together slowly, but due to all the frenzy and panic it isn’t as shimmery and beautiful as you imagine, making you break into tears.
Yes, the day before the wedding is the hardest.

Now I won’t lie to you, I can’t promise you these few tips are going to make the day any easier. Unless you have a planner doing everything for you it’s a lot of physically and emotionally hard work. But there are a few small things you can to do make the set up and dress rehearsal a tad bit less stressful:

Ryan and I were so busy the day before doing separate things for the wedding that we didn’t get to see much of each other until the dress rehearsal. We may be all business in the picture above, but putting together the photo wall was my favourite task because it was 20 minutes I got to spend working with my future husband.
There’s no way this wedding would have been so incredible if it wasn’t for our families coming together to help. They were with us in that scorching sun hanging ribbons, planting flowers, hanging pictures, assembling chairs, etc etc etc.
It was beyond touching how everyone took time out of their precious days to work together and make it happen. Their hard work and love still melts my heart to this day.

If anyone ever offers to help you, never say no. You might not think you need it but I urge you to take all the help you can get.

Especially if you’re having an outdoor wedding where the ground will be uneven, wear your heels to the dress rehearsal. That way you’ll get a feel for walking around in them and can avoid any tripping mishaps that could otherwise occur on your wedding day. Certainly that’s something you want to avoid.

The ceremony and wedding day in general goes by so fast. You won’t remember what was said at the ceremony, so soak in every single moment at the dress rehearsal. Listen to your future husband as he speaks his vows, rejoice at the chaplain/minister announcing you as husband and wife. Enjoy it now before the adrenaline and blood pumping through your ears makes listening tomorrow impossible.
