Happy Victoria Day to all you Canadians!
As a kid the most exciting part of this day was the parade. The several marching bands from local high schools and from the states blasting out brass and percussion filled tunes, the dancers and brightly coloured floats with people who may just give you candy if you sit near enough to the curb.
Candy in the morning. What could be better as a kid?
As an adult, it’s a lot of waiting around, pushing (and driving) through crowds, and making sure your kid doesn’t shove all those lollipops in their mouth at once. But relax, enjoy the show, and look good while doing it.
