Honestly, what is it with the word ‘sale’ that send the majority of females into a shopping frenzy? It doesn’t matter how tiny the sale is (“You bought a shirt for $200?” “But it was 10% off!”), the mere sight of the word sale urgently sends primordial messages to our brain to gather all in sight.
Exhibit A: Me
Mind you, I did head into this mall on a mission to purchase new clothes, and I did have this particular store in mind, but as soon as I saw the “30%-50% off” sale signs all over the store, my heart started beating a little faster. Soon my arms were full of shirts I never thought I could actually pull off. But hey! They’re on sale! The all too helpful staff emptied my arms 4 times before I was ready to head into the changing room and face my gathered finds, waiting for me, ready to split cracks through my visa card.
Thankfully, common sense overtook me as I tried on each item and I didn’t (though I very well could have) buy the whole lot. Here is what I came away with, $168 later.
Dots signify colour of shirt purchased
Yes. $168 on three Wilfred shirts, that I didn’t really need (my closet is already stuffed full of cardigans), but that’s not really the point now is it?
Besides, by comparing the original prices (especially on the baptiste blouse) check out how much I saved!
What have you bought on sale lately?
…
THIS JUST IN!
ModCloth is having a 70% off sale today!
Happy shopping! (and be sure to tell me what you got!)

So true! But if you are really going to go FullForceFemale you have to consider that, if you were to buy the same items at full retail price, with taxes you’d be in it for $348. Considering you walked away with a steal at $163, that means you’ve earned a guilt-free shopping spree of $185! Yes!

That’s what I think! I saved more than I spent. That is a success in itself!
