I’ve been listening to a lot of Christmas music. A lot. That’s what this time of year is for right?
I recently got a massive collection of Christmas music and had to wade through a lot of awfulness to find a few precious gems. It made me realize there are a lot of fantastic Christmas songs that aren’t very well known. So here are my top 5 of the best least known Christmas songs:
5. Proper Crimbo – Bo Selecta
By no means is this a good song, but it is just so darn catchy! Just listen to it all and I dare you not to be singing along to the chorus.

4. The Bells of St.Mary – Bob B. Soxx & Blue Jeans
A jazzy song from the 60’s, this song makes you feel like your on a sleigh ride through Christmas town! Well, for me anyway.

3. Star of Wonder – Sufjan Stevens
Trying to pick just one Sufjan Stevens Christmas song was a challenge. I love the entire Christmas albums, (yes plural). Why did this one win spot #3? The slow build up, gentle vocals, well placed piano, and epic ending leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. And isn’t that what Christmas is all about?

2. Hello Mr.Kringle – Kay Kyser
Probably from the 40’s, this upbeat tune is catchy, funny and will have you bouncing in your seat or dancing on your feet in no time! If I had to describe this song in one word it would be FUN. It’s definitely become a staple in my Christmas music collection.

1. White Christmas – Otis Redding
*sigh* Every time I hear this song, my stomach forms these beautiful knots of love. You know that feeling you get deep in your gut when you’re just so happy and all is right with the world? That’s what this song (and several Otis Redding songs) does for me. Just beautiful beautiful Christmas soul.
