Last month I talked about hosting students from abroad, and how we were getting ready to host students again. Update – it’s lovely! I also gave 10 tips on hosting international students. One of those tips was to have a guidebook for your student to reference if they have questions. If you’re venturing into the homestay world, or perhaps you’re getting ready for summer visitors, you might need this. Here’s printable and editable house rules for international students and guests.
I’ve found it quite useful so far as my student has referenced to it a couple times. It just helps break down that communication barrier and allows the student to translate information at their own pace. It also saves you from repeating rules multiple times. These rules are designed for international students, but certainly go ahead and make changes to suit your needs. If you’re having your best friends over from half way across the world, after dinner is probably not going to be individual quiet time!
I made them editable because obviously my house rules are not going to be the same as your house rules. It’s a doc file using very basic fonts so you should have no problem viewing it just as you see here. Simply download the file above, edit, add, or delete text as fits your needs!
