When I lived in Japan my main forms of transportation were train and my cruiser bicycle.
A dream I know.
Aside from a short lived stint through university, I have been pretty well bike-less ever since. So when the mister gave me my 30th birthday present last November – the option to design a bike he’d build, I was over the moon.
Sure, it’s been 9 months since then, but it took time searching for the right dingy old bike that needed sprucing up, then taking it all apart, cleaning it, replacing parts, spraying it, clear coating it, and next – putting it all back together. That is happening this weekend, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
The three things I knew I wanted on the bike were white, brown leather, and brass. I’m still not entirely sure what the end result will look like completely, but it will be something of a mashup of all 5 bikes above.
I anticipate a lot of cycling for the rest of the summer.
