As hard as it was to look past the horrid light fixture and grandma wallpaper, when we first walked into this dining room I knew it had immediate potential. All it needed was some new fixtures, wallpaper removal and paint, all in which I thought we could whip up as soon as we moved in. It’s been 8 months and we’re just putting the finishing touches on the room now.
I immediately fell in love with the huge south and southwest facing windows that let in an incredible amount of light. And while the mister wanted to keep the wainscotting its original wood finish, I knew they would end up painted.
We’ve ended up slowly working on the room over time. The light fixture, curtains, table and chairs were the first things to change, but the biggest changes have happened in the last few weeks.
I can’t wait to show you what we’ve done with the place. Let me just say I do not miss that wallpaper one bit.
Stay tuned for the ‘After’ reveal in the next coming weeks!
Oh my god, you’re killing me! I can’t wait to see the after. And Lucy is the cutest.
Doesn’t she look like she’d be a kitty princess? I mean really
Where did you get your chairs from? I’ve been trying to find some like that locally or in Canada and haven’t had luck. Thanks!
We got them last fall at Home Outfitters, but we had to order some down from Nanaimo as our location ran out. I’ve seen advertisements for them on usedvictoria though. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Reproduction-Eames-Shell-Chairs_21495753
The light in that room looks amazing! I can’t wait to see the final reveal!
South and west facing windows are the best!
